Forza Motorsport 2. May. Buy it.

While no official date has been announced yet (Official Date = Exact Day), we now know that Forza Motorsport 2, the game I have suggested could pass Gran Turismo to become the premiere racing game, will be coming to our grubby little hands in May. And no, this isn’t some off-the-cuff rumor from some half-assed fansite that still tries to convince people that Microsoft is on the verge of buying Capcom, oh no. This news comes directly from Turn 10 themselves!
This morning, we teamed up with the PR team at Xbox 360 to send out an email blast to our friends in the press and auto community alerting them to the fact that we’ve officially fired-up our marketing engines and put the promotional pedal to the proverbial metal. The first important detail in the email is something you probably noticed already — Forza Motorsport 2 will be on North American store shelves May 2007.
That is taken directly from their “Turn 10 Pitpass Report.” Now, I’m not even going to try and put up a cool front of “Alright, that’s awesome. Can’t wait.” when, on the inside, I am squealing like a stuck pig right now. I was one of the few people who (openly) loved the original Forza, and actually said during my days with TSC (The Swab Company) that Forza could one day top Gran Turismo and Project Gotham Racing to become the premiere racing sim on the market.
Now, it should be known that the release date, while the big headline grabber, wasn’t the only one. They also talked about the twelve tracks featured in the game (eight of them being rendered versions of REAL TRACKS), as well as many of the multi-player options. It’s a very interesting read, and I suggest you check it out.
