FTW! Gears of War sweeps G-Phoria

The G4 views have spoken (that isn’t saying much), and they have named Gears of War the winner of “Game of the Year” at G4’s annual G-Phoria Award Show. Gears of War was voted GotY by the G4 viewers, collecting 45% of the vote. Other games nominated for Game of the Year included The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, God of War II, Final Fantasy XII and Company of Heroes.

However, this was not the only award Gears of War took home. In a night that showed complete dominance for the Xbox 360, Gears of War won an impressive six awards, including “Best Action Game”, “Best Multiplayer Game”, “Best Graphics”, “Best Voice Over” and “Best New Character”.

All in all the Xbox 360 came out of G-Phoria with ten awards. The Xbox 360 itself won “Best System” with 49%, and DoA Xtreme 2 (Hottest Babe), Dead Rising (Most Original Game) and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (Best Downloadable Content) also won.

To round out the list of winners, Commander & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars won “Best Strategy”, Wii Sports took home “Best Sports”, “Best RPG” and “Longest Lasting Game” went to The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Guitar Hero II won “Best Soundtrack” (no surprise there), and Pokemon Diamond/Pearl won “Best Handheld Game”.

…yeah, there really is no other news to write about, so here you go. By the way, Morgan Webb? Smokin’. I don’t care who disagrees.
