Microsoft Dishes Out $50 Million for Exclusive GTA IV Content
Last week, during a conference call between 2K Games top brass, Lainie Goldstein revealed to the world that Microsoft will be paying $50 Million to ensure that the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto IV will have exclusive content. To quote Goldstein…
The first 25 (million) is for the first episodic content package that’s supposed to go out and that is in March of ‘08. That’s why it moved into current because it’s in the next 12 months. The second 25 will be for the second episodic, the episode, and that will be later in fiscal ‘08…
Good deal for Microsoft — not only do they shaft Sony out of exclusive content to one of the biggest games of 2007, but Microsoft can gain a little more financial stability when they charge us an arm and a leg for these damn things.
