If you didn’t know, we here at the Rally are a bit of fans to the Soul Calibur franchise. Call it the love good graphics, top notch music production, huge wide open levels, and of course, the always kick ass and original fighting gameplay, whatever you pick, Soul Calibur games are some of the best. E3 Now brings us a little taste of what will be in all our futures, a nice full trailer for the game, full of thong action and a new character… ROLL THE CLIP!
Who doesn’t love Tron? Seriously. It’s one of the greatest sci-fi films to ever grace the silver screen, and spawned two memorable arcade classics, as well as a pretty kick ass PC sequel to the film. Well, as the 25th anniversary of Tron comes and goes (it was last Monday), Disney Interactive Studios informs us that both Tron and Discs of Tron will be re-released over Xbox Live Arcade by the end of the summer.
Here’s a quick look at the “enhanced” version of the classic Tron, complete with a fresh coat of paint and some audio improvements. Trust me, you’ll need ‘em after you realize that the classic Tron SFX make your ears bleed.
And here is Discs of Tron, the 1983 sequel to the original Tron arcade game. As you can see in the video above, Discs of Tron has also gotten some special attention to bring it into the 21st century. Both Tron and Discs of Tron will be available on the Xbox Live Marketplace by the end of Summer. When this reporter (listen to me, acting all serious) asked Disney Interactive’s Eric Wein, he told me that while no release date had yet been finalized, both titles WILL be released by the end of the Summer. He couldn’t disclose to me the prices, however.
There are a few games that with only a mere mentioning can make gamers across the globe cringe. Most are because of just how truly awful they were, games like E.T., Superman, Big Rig and Galleon (it sucked, accept this). But there are also a select few games that make gamers cringe, scowl and openly cry out in pain for another reason. A far more sinister reason. Games like Contra, Ghosts n’ Ghouls, Battletoads, and Stuntman invoke these feelings of sheer dread and despair. Why?
Because they’re freaking IMPOSSIBLE! THAT’S WHY!
Now, as Major Nelson is more than happy to tell us, the demo for the sequel, Stuntman: Ignition is now available for download over Xbox Live. So, go on. Download it. Let yourself be driven to tears all over again. You all have fun with that. As for myself… I’m staying far, far away.
Turok. At one time, it was a badass FPS franchise that made the N64 the system to own… ok, not really, but it was still pretty bad ass. Either way, after a few substandard sequels, and an attempted relaunch on the Xbox that can only be described as abysmal, Turok has returned looking manly and absolutely BAD ASS!
Apparently this time around Turok is a Government Bad Ass with a Mohawk and a taste for death. I haven’t seen anyone this manly use a bow since I saw Rambo: First Blood part II… the only film to make me weep.
This game feels like Splinter Cell, Killzone, and Jurassic Park had a disgusting, deformed Flipper baby. The idea of mowing through a series of commandos just to be pounced on by a velociraptor hiding in the bushes… hot. Simply sexy.
We all love the Halo music. If you don’t like the Halo theme, then you just plain have no taste in music whatsoever… and you probably hate Democracy. So GTFO my site, you anti-Halo commie bastard.
…no, no. I was kidding. Get your ass back here.
For you who DO love Halo, however, Bungie is now offering, for free, the music to the E3 trailer we all saw (sans G4 viewers) on Tuesday night. So give it a download, and rock the hell out!
I remember saying a couple months back that the game was not not confirmed! Now it has come to fruition. So despite the claims of 360 possibly having the ability to “exact limitations which could delay progress,” it looks as though that doesn’t stop a company from knowing if they want to make money back on their games, they have to make sure it is on a system that people actually own.
Enjoy the screenshots first, then the full press release following them. (Note: First two screens are pretty big sized, detailed, and ready to make into wallpapers)
I remember nearly a year, a video was posted on Digg that made it to the front page (link). That band, “Corporeal” has since posted other videos of them playing on YouTube as well as setting up their own MySpace page. To my surprise, as I was flipping through GamerScoreBlog’s flickr set, I noticed a pic with this same little known band. I just thought it was awesome a band that just does their own thing, has one really great cover, and a year later is now performing on the Microsoft stage, they deserve a mention, because as I read my daily gaming news sites, I see little to no word about them. Enjoy an early performance by the band embedded below, from 2006, then check here (High Quality | Low Quality) to stream their performance from the E3 stage, you can’t deny these kids got “it”
Without a doubt, Fable 2 is one of the the most anticipated games for the Xbox 360. We all want it, of course. Unfortulately, Lionhead Studios has been VERY secretive about the project, giving us only a few concept art renderings to hold us over. Until now.
Ladies and Gents — the first official in-game Fable 2 Screenshots.
When I sat down on my couch, I was expecting to have every bit of news, speculation and rumor clarified for us, the people. I had G4 on my TV, I had the 1UP stream in IE, and in Firefox I had the Justin.tv feed via Scot Rubin’s head-cam. After Scot went to the latrine while still having his camera on, I closed Firefox.
Now before I get into any great detail about Microsoft’s Press Conference, let me just say that G4, a network that at one time prided itself as being “by gamers, for gamers” and now prides itself as sort of a nerd hub, did a HORRIBLE job! Now, I could excuse most of the commercial breaks, sure. But when they cut to commercial during the footage of Halo 3’s campaign mode, I threw my remote at the TV. Thankfully, I DID get to see the footage in it’s entirety via the stream. But this was just another prime example of how G4 has become a colossal failure in both it’s content, and it’s management.
There she is, the supposed “gray” Xbox 360 that everyone was salivating over yesterday. Turns out that it wasn’t gray at all, but rather jungle green. Here’s the in-and-out with the upcoming, Limited Edition Halo 3 Xbox 360:
Will Feature HDMI
Will Sport a 20GB Hard Drive
Now, we SHOULD be able to get our hands on this when we go to pick up out copies of Halo 3, but I’m honestly not certain about that. Last night is kind of a blank to me now. You know how when you study all night and get an hour of sleep, how you forget everything? Yeah, that happened.
Here I am, coming to you LIVE from my couch! Here I am, ladies and gentlemen, ready to pass along the latest news from Microsoft on to YOU, the reader! …because apparently you don’t realize it’s on G4… or 1UP.com… or Gamespot… or Lord knows where else… EITHER WAY, let’s DO IT! Watch the Conference HERE!
Here’s a cool little video about the new real-world car physics being incorporated into the next Need for Speed title. While I, personally, haven’t played a single NFS title since Hot Pursuit 2, I must admit that this one has caught my eye.
Welcome to Xbox 360 Rally, the only home for all the Xbox 360 news that matters, with a touch of “home flavor” not associated with most major gaming sites.
