Friendly Reminder: WE WANT TO LEAVE, ALREADY!

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

xbox-360-rally.jpg

Hi, boys and girls. It’s just me, your friendly neighborhood JW, here to remind you all that we’re currently looking for people to replace us here at Xbox 360 Rally. All you have to do is go HERE, fill out the form, and wait to hear back. It’s really not that hard.

So, get to it already — so Paco and I can get to the NEW site!

We want YOU! …to replace us!

xbox-360-rally.jpg

Ok, people, here’s the deal — Paco and I are on our way out. We’re taking over at 1PStart.com in an effort to restore it to it’s former glory. …that, and I just plain want to write about another game every once in a while, is that so wrong?!

Anyways, here is what we’re looking for: A competent, capable writer with a love for all things Xbox. Now, by competent writer, we mean someone who spells “you” correctly, and knows when to capitalize. If you can do that, you’re a shoe-in. So, CLICK THIS DAMN LINK, do the required stuff, then get paid to play video games and write about stuff.

…hell, Mike and I did the hard stuff already, and YES, the GTA4 Banner contest will continue, and I will still give you a copy of GTA IV… or something. So, hop to it.

Dead Rising now $29.99

deadrising.jpg

If you haven’t played through Dead Rising yet, well… you suck. But you’re also missing out on one of the best damn games in the Xbox 360 library.

If you haven’t played it yet, now is the chance to make up for that ugly mistake. Gamestop (pictured above), Best Buy and Circuit City all have Dead Rising listed as $29.99. That’s right: One of the best games in the Xbox 360 library is now a mere $30.

You have no excuse now — if you haven’t bought it yet, do so now.

Technical Difficulties

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007

The servers are melting. Paco spilled his cola on the keyboard. JW’s out back trying to wrangle the horses. In short, we’re all kinds of FUBAR, so we may not be able to update as much as we’d like today.

Sorry, peeps. We’ll be back soon.

Official Retraction of SEGA TGS Rumor

Sunday, August 5th, 2007

banner-jwsnotes.jpg

There has been a lot of controversy regarding a recently posted rumor regarding SEGA’s possible Tokyo Game Show line-up. Now, I was originally very defensive of this piece because of who sent it in. He, a long-time go-to guy named Rob, has sent me exclusive tips for four years, and until this most recent one, they were ALL accurate.

Regardless, after the link had been posted by reader “Cedge”, I immediately contacted Rob via GoogleIM.

Saints Row, LEGO Star Wars II, now Platinum Hits

newsletter01.jpg

I really don’t have to add any bit of information. I mean, sometimes a picture just speaks for it’s effin’ self, right? Well, this is one of those times. I didn’t originally catch it when I deleted the newsletter (whoops?), but when I went to look for something else I accidentally sent to the good ol’ recycle bin inside Thunderbird, I saw it, read it, and found the above image.

Saints Row, and LEGO Star Wars II are now both available for the low, low price of $29.99. If you haven’t picked either of them up yet… well, you fail. But now you have a chance to redeem yourself. So buy them NOW!

Cheap Ass Games FTW!

Remember when I wrote up on a bunch of new Platinum Hits for Japan? Well, now it’s our turn — and we’re in for quite the treat. Come March 16th, EIGHT more games will be added to the Xbox 360 Platinum Hits library:

Battlefield 2: Modern Combat
Burnout Revenge
Call of Duty 2
Dead or Alive 4
Fight Night Round 3
Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter
Rockstar presents Table Tennis
Top Spin 2

Each game will retail for $30, and again, will be available on March 16th… thankfully, I got about that much from Gamestop when I traded them in about four months ago. Every-single-one. Beating the system FTW!

Four new “Platinum Hits” coming… to Japan

Monday, February 5th, 2007

Cheap Ass Games FTW!

When you’re cheap, like me, deals like Microsoft’s “Platinum Hits” series make you smile. I mean, here is a service which allows you, if you’re patient, to buy the best of the best in 360 titles for no more than $20.

Today, Kotaku (a website that does NOT treat their readers like trash) received an e-mail from Xbox Japan, telling them that there were four more “Platinum Hits” games on the horizon. Those games?

Chromehounds
Burnout Revenge
Battlefield 2: Modern Combat
Perfect Dark: Zero

This is GREAT News… if you live in Japan. But, since you probably live in the states (or Equador), I doubt this will really matter. In the US, the Xbox 360 Platinum Hits list includes Perfect Dark: Zero, but also has Project Gotham Racing 3, Need for Speed: Most Wanted and Kameo: Elements of Power.

Although, it does seem about the right time that Microsoft would come out and add onto that list. Games like Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter and Dead Rising are sure to be in that second batch, you would have to think. Either way, when Microsoft makes an announcement, you know for a fact I’ll be on top of it.
