GameTrailers’ Left 4 Dead interview

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

GameTrailers has a new video interview with Turtle Rock founder and CEO, Michael Booth. It’s an interesting interview which is accompanied by very pretty in-game footage, but some of the discussion points Booth brings up concerns me a bit.

For instance, Booth himself said that you can complete each campaign in “about an hour”. Sure, there are going to be four campaigns in the initial game, but still — that’s only four hours. For anyone who likes to spend more than, say, an hour playing a game, this is not good news.

Also, I would’ve liked to have heard more about the single-player elements with Left 4 Dead, but oh well.

Finally, the game’s release date? “When it’s ready.” …sound familiar?

Battlefield Bad Company Looking Hot while Call of Duty 4 is just rehashing Battlefield 2

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

New video here of Battlefield Bad Company running 8 minutes. I noticed right away on Call of Duty 4 beta that it was a near copy of Battlefield 2, but in a good way. Battles a little quicker, but still similar to Battlefield 2. Well now here comes this Bad Company video and it still has that Battlefield feel to it, but I really feel they are stepping it up. Check the video, it is turning out to be pretty nice:

Silent Hill 5 - 3 Videos Released

Ace Combat 6 trailer is the sex

Friday, September 7th, 2007

Ace Combat 6 is looking good. This is coming from someone who, admittedly, hasn’t played an Ace Combat title in ten years but… I may have to try this one.

Especially if there is a “Danger Zone” mini-game. I’ve always wanted to shoot Val Kilmer with a Sidewinder missile, after all.

Fable 2 - Female Character Screenshots - Teh Hot (NSFW)

Tuesday, September 4th, 2007

Okay, I kid, one of these I would definitely deem ‘not safe for work’ .. however the other two aren’t bad, just good artwork for those of us who enjoy checking out concept art as the game is being processed.

Medal of Homer - The New Simpsons Game Brings Teh Funny

Tuesday, September 4th, 2007

Sometimes, a video is enough for a post, this is one of those times, our spanish brethren Juegos (Xbox666) has posted a video that I just had to share as well. Instead of the usual ads of a game showing various split scenes of action, The Simpsons just went ahead and did a parody of war video games. From what I understand, a lot of the game itself is going to be parodies of other video games as well, and with the last Simpsons title, “Hit & Run” being a pretty good game, im actually really looking forward to this new title.

The Return of Red vs Blue (Episode 5 of 5) - “Moving Day”

It is a sad sad day, it is time to close the series of posting these videos, I now present, with the help of YouTube user Metamario, the last episode of the short stint of Red vs Blue episodes promoting Halo 3

First time hearing of this series of videos? Enjoy living under that rock? For you, in order of the special five episodes, click the following links for ep 1 (Upward Mobility), ep 2 (Personal Spaces), ep 3 (Fully Equipped), and ep 4 (Open House). Thanks to the Rooster Teeth guys for making these, I am not the biggest 1-800-MAGIC fan, but I wish them success with that series.

Mafia II Trailer — ENGLISH Version

Friday, August 31st, 2007

Here’s the English version of the really, really pretty Mafia II. I’m not sure how much of that video is gameplay (I’d imagine about 0.00 seconds), but the video is just awesome.

GameTrailers Review: Blue Dragon

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

Now, I don’t know too much about Blue Dragon. I was lucky enough, many moons ago, to get my hands on an import copy of the game, but because it was all in Japanese, I didn’t know what the hell was going on. So, when I started seeing Blue Dragon getting mixed reviews from several websites stateside (Game Informer: 9/10, GameSpot: 6/10), I was put off a bit.

After watching this GameTrailers review, however, I think I’m sold. I’ll probably pick this one up for at least a rental.

Assassin’s Creed PAX Video

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007

You know, after E3 you guys gave Assassin’s Creed a lot of flak because of a few minor glitches that reared their ugly heads during the gameplay demonstration. Considering we saw a game that looked to be in it’s Beta stage, most of the complaints were unfounded in my eyes.

Well, here are a couple of videos of Assassin’s Creed in action from PAX. There are still a couple of glitches to be worked out (note the glitch in the flowing fabric), but it’s obvious that the game is coming along very nicely.

Videos after the break.

Stranglehold Multiplayer Interview & Gameplay Videos

Monday, August 27th, 2007

One of the top questions that have been asked by fans has been “how is the multiplayer going to work?”. Well, these videos are sure to alleviate any worries you may have that the Stranglehold multiplayer would somehow be broken.

I especially love how they’ve decided to do the “Tequila Bomb” attacks. As explained in the first video, you’ll have a meter that slowly fills up the longer you live. Once you’ve been alive a certain amount of time, your meter will fill. Once full, you’ll be able to do a Tequila Bomb, which has been shortened in multiplayer to about two seconds. By doing it this way, the game will be far more balanced than it would be if you had one guy just dropping bomb after bomb after bomb.

Now, the first video is an interview about how they’ve been able to balance out the multiplayer gameplay. The other videos, which are after the break… eye candy. Pure eye candy.

Halo 3 Omegathon Videos

Monday, August 27th, 2007

For those of us who aren’t lucky enough to be at PAX, hwe missed out on some killer Halo 3 footage. Thankfully GameTrailers has posted some of that insanely awesome gameplay video on their website, so that we can all get yet ANOTHER look at Halo 3’s awesomeness, plus we get to see some of Halo 3’s new weapons in action — including the flamethrower, which looks like it will absolutely rape your entire face.

Videos after the break.

Halo Wars - First Video Released! 10 Minutes of What is to Come

Monday, August 27th, 2007

Not only is HaloWars.com hooking us up with a nice 10 minute long video showing many aspects of the game, but we get commentary on it all as well. I am not an RTS man, nothing against them, just never really tried them out, so as we wait on official word if a demo is really going to come out for this, I think here is the best we are going to get as far as getting a taste of this title. Want just a little more, make sure to check out the 45 second clip that was posted just yesterday.

Keep an eye on Gamersyde for a 720p version of this video if your computer can handle the HD.

Assassin’s Creed - 11 Minutes of Game Play

Monday, August 27th, 2007

Too many good titles coming out lately. God bless RockStar for pushing back GTAIV, otherwise I think gamers worldwide would have to quit their jobs just to enjoy some gaming. As of today a brand new video showing off a good chunk of game play was released for Assassin’s Creed. The first time I was impressed by this game was because of a video that used DJ Shadow as the background music (link), but that video really just showed random clips of things happening. This video brings you the goods of what you can expect, which is awesome level design and good fights as you take on multiple enemies, expect this title in November. Enough talk, roll the clip!

Halo 3 - 18 Minutes of Game Play - Spoiler Altert and a Half

Sunday, August 26th, 2007

Watch campaign footage that hasn’t been shown before. Watch the video playback function in action, see alien blood in mid air as you pause during playback, take a screenshot and save it to your hard drive, share with your friends. Graphics are easily better than the Halo 3 Beta that was out. Streaming quality not your thing, how about a 1.2 gig 1280 x 720 torrent to view this in. This is all thanks to the great work of BlimBlim at Gamersyde from GC07. Enjoy.

A quick note about the above video and torrent file, like said above, they are provided by BlimBlim of Gamersyde, on top of the torrent file I have linked from this post, they offer at this page MP4 and AVI links to this video to make sure you can view the file in the format you wish. So make sure to head over there to check out what more they have to offer as well, they keep up on some of the most up to date news on all systems. Thanks again Gamersyde!
