360 Getting a Faster DVD Drive
Ok, all you guys who aren’t into the tech side of stuff need not apply. For the rest of us who have noticed that sometimes our Xbox 360s can get pretty loud, I come bearing good news — Microsoft is addressing it.
In fact, Microsoft is putting in an entirely new drive into the new 360s. The new DVD drive, a BenQ [shitload-o-numbers-and-letters] (BenQ VAD6038) is said to be much quieter and able to load games quicker due to it’s increased RPM speed. (Jesus, I feel like I’m talking about an effin’ car)
Glad to hear Microsoft switching to a faster DVD drive, naturally, but as someone who’s had their Xbox 360 for over a year, it makes me wish they had thought about this earlier — every time I hear that whirring noise when I boot up a disc, is scares the crap out of me. Always makes me think something is grinding against the disc…

Man..this blows. I should write to Microsoft to give me the new drive cause it sounds like my 360 is about to hit mach 3 when a game is in it.
